3D MODEL COMMISSION
Sculpting is a process of crafting a three-dimensional shape in any kind of space – physical or virtual. Our artists are ready to create a hero, beast or accessories of your choice, and even if our main field are collectibles and custom battle miniatures, we’ll also be happy to create something different. Modeling of 3D objects is time consuming and hard process. There are steps to complete if we would like to achieve the best and fastest results.
We would like to show you how whole process of 3D model comissions look like down in this article.
◦ fully sculpted character – that means, the sculpt will be not only good looking, but also the file will be checked and free from any fallacies;
◦ pose – we will make your character look both natural and dynamic;
◦ weapons – by default, we make our sculpts with both hands busy – whether it’s one different weapon in each hand, or a massive, two-handed one;
◦ base – we have a rich collection of pre-made bases, so you have a lot to choose from;
◦ commercial license – you are free to use our sculpts however you like; we only ask you to credit us as authors of the miniature, if you’re going to use it for monetization (e.g. at your YouTube channel)
1. ARRANGEMENT OF THE COMMISSION
Whole process begins when you contact us via email adress: office@wildmesh.eu
In this process we inform you how much working hours is required to complete the comission.
To make whole process faster we would like to get as much information as possible, so if you have a 3D visualisation, fan-art or hand-painted illustration of the character with details it would be awesome to include this in an email.
Example form:
– budget,
– scale of the miniature (22mm, 32mm etc.),
– visualisation of the miniature,
– details on the 3D object,
– information if you would like to get this miniature printed or maybe even painted by us.
And everything that is important for you and it’s not mentioned above.
If everything is accepted and advance pay-ment is settled then we can proceede to the next step!
2. SCULPTING OF THE MODEL BEGINS!
Now we start to sculpt your 3D model. We’re using ZBrush to create your model. Every aspect is polished by our sculptors.
WORK IN PROGRESS UPDATES
While working we’ll send to our clients updates done on the 3D objects, 360° view of whole object and photos including details.
3. REVISIONS
We care about the opinion of our clients and it is possible to submit corrections during our work. That’s why we enable revisions to our customers.

4. PREPARING FILE TO 3D PRINT
After 3D object is ready, we’re converting it to .STL file format. Then we’re adding supports to the model to print whole object correctly and polishing the edges of whole 3D model. Preparing a file for printing mainly comes down to checking the designs for the correctness of the meshes and the lack of empty spaces inside. This is important when printing with resin as the resin will could not cure in such places.
Later, if necessary, the 3D project is divided into pieces or simply prepared as a whole. Checking the appropriate thickness of the smallest / thinnest elements in such a way that all elements withstand the printing process and use later.
Then We do decimation, which reduces the number of polygons in the mesh, which will later optimize the file size and print speed. We’re testing it as well on our 3D printer.
If everything is OK then we send prepared files for 3D printing.
